Resteraucion

Resteraucion of the foundation dates back to 1882, when officers Lilisistas: Sotero Blanc, Eusebio Gomez and Pablo Reyes drove the Haitian military Dominican Republic 2outpost that was established in the area, hoisted the flag of Dominican and sealed the recovery of this community. A year later, Gen. Sotero Blanc suggested that the then president Ulises Heureaux, christened the place with the name of Cantonal Since Resteraucion.

Since that time he was named as the new Canton, then jurisdiction of the Province Montecristi, which was the second capital of the nation at that time.  On June 23rd 1892, by the Decree No.31/92 of President Ulises Heureaux ,  Resteraucion was upgraded to a common City.   Resteraucion was the first municipality in the Province Dajabon, created in 1938 through Act 1521 on June 20th of that year.

In that period the first groups of families consisted of residents Almonte, Amarante, Belliard, Furcal, Pacheco, Liriano, Gomez Contreras, Sipion, Valdez, Recio, Helena, Urbaez and Solis Fontanillas.

This town has seen stellar moments of Dominican history, including Capotillo Shout (1863), during the first U.S. invasion (1916) and the expeditions of Constanza, Maimon and Estero Hondo (1959) with Gonzalo Almonte Pacheco, a member of the Raza Inmortal.
It has restored its border in the west with Haiti, separating it from the rivers Artibonite, Lisbon and the International Road, and is adjacent to the northern municipality Loma de Cabrera, to the south by the Elias Pina Province and to the east by the Province Santiago Rodriguez.
